How to use it
- You’re angry right now: tap “I’m losing it”, drag the slider to say how mad you are, pick a direction (let it out / get out of my head / just comfort me), then check the number again when you’re done.
- You want to write it down: tap “Write it down 📝”. It goes into your log and you can read it again whenever you want.
- You’re about to send something you’ll regret: same button. Write it, then give it a cool-down time (5, 10 or 30 minutes) and decide when it’s up. That step is optional. Skip it and it’s just a mood note.
- You want to see how you’re doing: “Me → Cool-down log” shows how many times this month you pulled yourself out of it.
Common questions
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Unmad has no server, makes no network requests, and needs no account. See the privacy policy.
Will anything I write get sent?
No. Unmad has no send function. It holds what you wrote and shows it back to you. Even with a cool-down time set, all that happens when time is up is that you get to read it again.
Do my records follow me to a new phone?
No. They live only on the device you wrote them on, and Unmad has no cloud sync. They are also excluded from iPhone backups, so switching phones or restoring from a backup does not bring them across.
How do I delete what I wrote?
Every note can be permanently deleted on its own. “Me → Clear all records” deletes all records; “Erase all local data” deletes your settings too; deleting the app removes everything.
The sound or the vibration is too much.
“Me” has separate switches for sound and vibration. Turn either one off.
Is this a therapy app?
No. Unmad does not assess, diagnose, or treat anything. It just gives you somewhere to put the worst thirty seconds. If you need professional help, please contact a professional. If you are thinking about hurting yourself, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
